Moena, what to see and do.

Thanks to its strategic position, Hotel Costabella is a perfect accomodation in Moena. The town is just 10 minutes by car from our hotel and is therefore an ideal place for a day trip. Well-furnished with shopping centres, dairy shops and refuges, gourmet restaurants and typical local markets, it is a constantly-evolving town which offers tourists all the comfort and tranquillity they are looking for.

The Fata delle Dolomiti (The Fairy of the Dolomites), the historical name of Moena, is the most inhabited town in the Val di Fassa. It marks the border between the Val di Fiemme and the Val di Fassa and has recently become a “Pearl of the Alps”. This definition marks Moena as a European tourist destination which protects the environment and manages to offer an ecological and eco-compatible holiday, without sparing any comfort. In fact, in periods of increased tourist traffic, the centre of Moena becomes completely pedestrian.

Festivals and events

Every year, during the autumn, the popular Festival of the Puzzone of Moena is celebrated, in honour of a cheese which is typical of Ladin tradition. In this period, music, folklore and culinary delights fill the town; tourists are given the opportunity to experience and taste the true spirit of Trentino.

In the other seasons, the various festivals and organised events will give you the ideal input to decide what to do in Moena. In the first half of the year, there are various regular events, such as the Marcialonga, a cross-country skiing race, the Carnival procession and the Scufoneda, a festival dedicated to freestyle skiing. In the summertime, festivals such as Ciajeòle and the “Turkish” festival bring the main streets of Moena to life, rendering the atmosphere joyful and convivial. Towards September, an important mountain bike competition, the Val di Fassa Bike, takes place.

If you stay at the Costabella, a trip to Moena is absolutely recommended!
